During the last 6 days I've larking around at a luxurious holiday resort in Mexico.
I'm here with my girlfriend and we've had the time of our lives and enjoyed every minute.
It's amazing how much beer you can drink when waiters keep bringing it to you for free while you snooze on the beach!
Below you can see the view from where I spent my morning lounging around by the sea.
We still have another week until we leave but if I had my way we'd be here for another month on top of that.
But here's the thing.
When I first started online the reality was very different to what most so called "gurus" teach.
I certainly wasn't working from the beach during those early days!
In fact, back in 2007 I was an overworked high school teacher and I didn't have a lot of time for anything other than marking and planning.
It was "exam season" for my classes which meant I barely had a moment to think let alone time to try and build a profitable online business.
Yet after a while I decided that I wanted a better life... a life where I didn't have to clock on and clock off and where I'd have complete independence to to do what I wanted, when I wanted.
In other words I wanted to be FREE.
So I pushed ahead with my online dreams and pretty quickly things took on a life of their own.
BUT the reality of those early days was very different to all the over-hyped Clickbank sales letters you're tired of reading
There were a lot of late nights... a lot of frustrated attempts... a lot of negativity from friends and family who doubted my ability to do the "impossible".
There's no getting away from the fact that those early days were tough.
I still remember falling asleep in the middle of the afternoon while sharing a drink in a pub with friends.
Why?
Because I'd been up for 36 hours straight trying to get my latest product ready for launch.
So the early days ARE a lot of work.
And the sooner you realise this then the sooner you'll start taking the steps needed to build a REAL online business from scratch.
It's what I did and it's what YOU can do too.
But first you have to accept that this is a real business and not just a string of cheap tactics that might make money today and be gone tomorrow.
And while the early days are HARD it is absolutely worth the struggle once you get to the other end.
I've spent the entire week enjoying my 10th holiday of the last year and I've yet to do more than one hour's worth of work in a single day while here.
And despite my regular absences my online businesses have continued to be more profitable than ever.
It's NOT easy getting here but it's definitely worth the bumpy ride 
And if you too want to make sales while lying by the beach then here are a couple of important tips that have made a gigantic difference to my business and my life...
1. Have an offer that converts together AND a compelling affiliate program that people want to join.

If you want to be able to make money on true autopilot then you MUST have a high converting offer than delivers better than expected commissions to your affiliates.
Once you have this in place you'll discover that affiliates find YOU without you ever needing to find them!
Having a front end offer that converts for your affiliates is one of the most important keys there is for being able to do this with your eyes closed.
2. Build a high performing sales funnel.
It's not enough to just have a front end product that converts well.
Over time you're also going to need a HIGH TICKET product that you sell to your existing customer base.
Every time I've forced a client to introduce a high priced product at the backend of their business they've always doubled their profits without a second thought.
And once you have this setup correctly you'll be selling just a small number of high priced products each month meaning you'll be earning a LOT more money... but your workload to support this extra business will hardly increase at all.
This isn't something you can put together in the early days... but when you DO have it you'll wonder what the heck took you so long to build it.
3. Invest in Other Team Members As Soon As Possible.
Here at Get More Momentum I have the help of some of the most talented individuals in our industry.
I DON'T try and do everything myself.
Because I couldn't.
Instead I surround myself with talented team members who know their role inside out, and who are super smart too.
The result is that the work of my company gets done day after day.... even if I'm not the one doing it.
It sounds like hype but because of the team I have I'm 100% sure Get More Momentum could continue to thrive even with me working just one hour a day.
I know this is the case because that's exactly what I've done during all of my recent vacations.
4. You must FORCE yourself to be productive!
As the owner of an online business it's a simple fact that your work will never be done.
I'm serious.
You'll always have a 'to-do' list as long as your arm and that will NEVER change.
But one of the most important skills you'll have to master is the ability to FOCUS on one or two clear priorities at a time... even if that means ignoring most of the rest of your task list.
And you need to recognise that these key priorities will always expand to fill the time you have available.
Everyday I ask myself "what MUST I absolutely have to get done today if I want my business to be stronger tomorrow?".
Once I've identified these tasks I then set myself strict time limits for how quickly these tasks must be completed.
If I don't do this then it's guaranteed that the tasks will expand to fill the time I have available!
So while here in Mexico I've decided that I will NOT work for more than one hour a day.
Usually I start my day's work at around 6pm and I make a deal with myself then I'll turn off my Mac at 7pm... NO MATTER WHAT.
It's absolutely amazing how much more work you can get done each day when you take this approach.
I find that tasks that would previously take 1 day will often now take 1 hour!
Try this. It works.
The bottom line is that building an online business involves an awful lot of hard work.
And you should absolutely stay clear of anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
But my best advice is to buckle down and get stuck in.
Yeah it's a ton of effort but the treasure at the end of the rainbow is worth its weight in gold.
Today I'm writing you this important message while enjoying an amazing Mexican sunset from my balcony while sipping a cool Corona fresh from the bar.
And despite the fact that this blog post is the only work I've done today my business has still generated thousands of dollars on complete autopilot.
Which is pretty cool when you think about it
And if I can do this then YOU can too.
But the first step is to forget about the "get rich quick" merchants who tell you can make a billion dollars in your pyjamas and instead start building a real online business that will produce income 24/7, no matter what.
And the good news is that because everyone else is chasing the big fat easy button (that doesn't exist) it means there's a HUGE opportunity for you if you take the bull by the horns and begin building a real online business, starting today.
It's what I did and it's what i want for you, too.
